What they gained were 7 bows, 7 thrown, and 5 gymnastics by level 40 which would cost a lot more than 10 skill points if I got them myself.įurthermore, in Avernum 6 you can’t buy bows or thrown skill anywhere which means that just by being a Nephilim you get 7 points to unlock the Battle Disciplines. The first time I played through in Avernum 6 my two Nephilim were only 2 levels behind my 2 Humans which is only 10 skill points lost. While you do get a 10% experience penalty for playing as a Nephilim that is not much of a cost for what you get in return. Still, I decided to write down my thoughts in a journal entry because what use is a journal if not to put down my thoughts? Thinking about game design is one of my hobbies so what better to write about?ġ) There’s no reason to be a Human or Slithzerikai since Nephilim are superior. Therefore if you are looking for games with a great story, interesting characters, unique classes, and lots of fun I recommend all of the Spiderweb Software games. The list was longer than expected but still less than can be said about other games. I enjoy all of Jeff Vogel’s games and want to buy all of the games I haven’t already, but got to thinking about everything I didn’t enjoy in Avernum 6. Specifically about the aspects that I think should be changed and improved upon. I’ve been playing and thinking about the wonderful Avernum series lately.
